Fried Onion Strings

P274P273

Very easy, though slightly messy because of the flour and frying oil. Fun side-dish for burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. The recipe came from Robert Irvine and can be found here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robert-irvine/crisp-onion-rings-spiced-ket…

Here’s the quick summary:

Cut onions thin, soak in ice water for 10 min and drain thoroughly.

Meanwhile, season flour with salt and pepper, mix well.

Coat onions with seasoned flour and shake off excess.

Fry in 375* oil (vegetable, peanut, or other), remove, salt and drain on paper towels.

Enjoy!

  1. We do like getting these recipes (though we would undoubtedly enjoy even more getting the actual dishes!). Actually, I think I could do this one myself sometime. So, many thanks, Chef PS. Keep these recipes coming! PS to PS: as always, your food photos are superb.
