Here’s an easy but unique snack or cheese plate addition.
Get good quality sweet bread and butter pickles. I’ve tried several brands, and the only ones I’ve really liked are Bubbies (and I believe they are widely available).
Add a lot of red chili pepper flakes to the jar and store overnight. Taste the next day for spiciness, if you want it more spicy, then repeat and try them again the next day.
Serve pickles on sandwiches–especially on BBQ, burgers, as a side snack, or as a nice acidic addition to a cheese plate.
You won’t be disappointed (and this is coming from a non-pickle fan).
Next time, I’ll learn how to make my own Bread and Butter pickles, but for now, this will do.
